Interrogating the Claims of Crypto: Decentralized, Immutable, Anonymous, Transparent

This is a recording of an introductory, 101-level presentation I gave to a group of policy and regulatory officials. In it, I give a broad introduction to cryptocurrencies and blockchains and some of the terminology, then go a little deeper into questioning some of the claims that are frequently made about blockchains’ supposedly inherent decentralization, immutability, anonymity, and transparency.
I re-recorded the live presentation after the fact so it could be distributed to that small group, but am also uploading it here in case it can be broadly useful to a public audience.
